Sibelco Australia has experienced a groundswell of support from the North Stradbroke Island community who share our vision for a Sustainable Stradbroke. However, we need your help to ensure our message is heard by the Queensland Government and a sustainable outcome for the future of North Stradbroke Island and its residents is achieved.

Sibelco Australia has listened to the concerns raised by North Stradbroke Island residents and developed a letter for Premier Anna Bligh to ensure these concerns are also heard by the State Government. The letter outlines our Sustainable Stradbroke vision and highlights the key concerns of local community members. To view the letter please click here.

We want to ensure a sustainable future for North Stradbroke Island and its residents, and this can’t be achieved by stopping sand mining immediately.

For a sustainable future, the Stradbroke community needs a gradual phasing out of mining to 2027. They need time to adjust, time for new industries to develop and time to plan for the future.
