Straddie 2012 community viewpoint survey closing tomorrow

16 October 2012

Sibelco Australia has announced the closing date for their Straddie 2012 Community Viewpoint survey is tomorrow, 17 October 2012.

While the last telephone surveys were completed yesterday, community members can still complete the survey online or they can drop off a hard copy at Sibelco Australia’s head office in Dunwich.

Paul Smith, Sustainability Manager from Sibelco Australia, said this year's round of community consultation was a huge success.

"We really appreciate the community's feedback as we go about working out how Sibelco Australia can contribute to the community in a positive way."

"Results of the survey will be released in the coming months, and will be available in hard copy, online or at Sibelco Australia’s head office."

Sibelco extends community viewpoints

04 October 2012

Sibelco Australia has announced it will extend its community survey to ensure the successful capture of feedback from a cross-section of North Stradbroke Island residents.

The Sibelco Community Viewpoints Survey was launched on Wednesday, 19 September 2012 to get an up-to-date snapshot of views about the future of sand mining on the Island.

Sibelco Australia's Sustainability Manager, Paul Smith, said by extending the survey the company would ensure all residents had the opportunity to have their say and be heard.

"We share a long and rewarding journey with the Straddie community and we want to continue to do so," he said.

"This is just another way we can engage the community and we encourage all residents to get involved."

"The extension also comes with the inclusion of a telephone survey that will commence next week and look to boost participation rates."

The survey can be completed online, hard copy or through responding via telephone.

Sibelco Australia invites the community to share views

19 September 2012

Sibelco Australia has announced they are formally seeking the community's views about the future of sand mining on the island, through a comprehensive community survey.

The survey will be open to the public for two weeks from Wednesday, 19 September 2012 and is part of Sibelco Australia’s ongoing commitment to listening to the community.

The focus of the survey will be on further understanding Sibelco Australia's operational footprint, understanding the place for sand mining within the community and the identification of opportunities to support the community into the future.

Sibelco Australia's Sustainability Manager, Paul Smith, said that the survey was just another way in which Sibelco engages with the community on a regular and continual basis.

"As the Island's largest employer, Sibelco has shared a long and rewarding journey with the Straddie community," he said.

"Sibelco Australia wants to hear the full range of views in the community so that together we are able to put our best foot forward into the future."

"This is an opportunity to further cement Sibelco Australia's partnerships by working collaboratively to understand the challenges facing our community."

"We encourage everyone to contribute so we are better placed to make decisions about the future of sand mining on North Stradbroke Island."

The survey can be completed online, or by hard copy, available in the next edition of the Sand Times or at Sibelco's Dunwich office.
